    The Florentine Codex names tezcatl, the obsidian smoking-mirror of Nahua rite and of Tezcatlipoca’s epithet. A named Mesoamerican scrying-surface in that colonial ethnography, not the generic mirror node and not the obsidian-to-mirror craft sentence.
