Vishnu’s spinning discus in Indian story and later temple image. Not a generic wheel, and not a later chakram-sport disc.

Also known as Sudarshana Chakra

Vedic tradition

  • Sudarshana is historically related to Discus.

Sudarśana is Viṣṇu-Krishna’s named spinning discus in the epic and temple image neighborhood the Gita’s Lord inhabits. A named sudarshana historically related to discus as that weapon-form, not dharmachakra as teaching wheel and not a sport chakram alone.
