Hellenic religion

  • Trojan Horse appears in Hellenic religion.

Pausanias seats the horse called Wooden, set up in bronze on the Athenian Acropolis, among sanctuary dedications and argues it against a literal wooden siege-horse. A named Trojan Horse figure in that periegesis, not the Virgil Aeneid stratagem seat alone and not every later ruse-engine dump.
