Aztlán

Places

The mythic origin place of Mexica migration speech. Not a modern nation dump, and not Tenochtitlan as the later city alone.

Nahua tradition

  • Aztlán appears in Nahua tradition.

Sahagún’s Florentine Codex records Aztlan among Mexica origin and migration speech — named ancestral place in historical ethnography. A colonial-era Nahua ethnographic attestation, not a pan-Mesoamerican essence and not an unfiltered pre-invasion voice.
