Blasphemy

Beliefs & concepts

Speech or act that profanes the sacred in community judgment. Not heresy as doctrinal deviation alone, and not curse as a folk harm-word.

Islam

  • Blasphemy appears in Islam.

The Qur’an names blasphemy and abusive speech against God among grave wrongs. A named blasphemy speech in that revelation, not sin as the general wrong already filed and not a modern offense dump.
