Gāṇḍīva is Arjuna’s named bow in the Mahābhārata/Gita war frame, the weapon that looses arrows in the dharma battle. A named gandiva historically related to arrow as that bow’s missile, not Sharanga as Viṣṇu’s bow and not a generic hunting-bow dump.
