Jahannam

Places

The fire of punishment in Islamic speech. Not Christian hell as a forced twin, and not Gehenna as the valley-name alone.

Islam

  • Jahannam appears in Islam.

The Qur’an names Jahannam among the fire seats of punishment. Islamic hell-place speech in that revelation, not hell as the English umbrella already walked and not underworld as a Greek path.
