Jannah

Places

The garden of paradise in Islamic speech. Not Paradise as a bare enclosure-word, and not Eden as the Genesis garden alone.

Also known as Janna

Islam

  • Jannah appears in Islam.

The Qur’an names jannah — the Garden — as the promised seat of the righteous. Islamic garden-place speech in that revelation, not paradise as the English umbrella already walked and not Eden as ʿadn gardens alone.
