Saee

Rituals

The named ritual course between Safa and Marwah in hajj and umrah. Not tawaf as the Kaaba circuit, and not a generic footrace.

Islam

  • Saee is used in Islam.

The Qur’an (2:158) names al-Safa and al-Marwa among God’s waymarks and treats passage between them as no sin for the pilgrim — the saʿy course. Islamic saʿy rite in that revelation, not ṭawāf as the house circuit alone.
