The named ethic of holding a charge in trust rather than as absolute own. Not trusteeship as office title alone, and not duty as bare ought alone.

Islam

  • Stewardship appears in Islam.

    The Qur’an names the human as khalīfa on the earth and speaks of trusts (amāna) humans bear. Islamic stewardship/trust speech in that revelation, not political caliphate invent and not a modern ecology slogan alone.
