Succession

After fire or flood, the set of beings that can live in a place changes, and those beings change the place, so a different set can follow. Lichen is often first on bare stone. It is not a march toward a perfect forest.

Succession feeds Growth first, then Decay, Evolution, and Tree. The card keeps Growth; the map keeps this ecological sequence.
