Reflection
Reflection is an emergent relationship within SHOE.BLUE: what becomes readable when Mirror and Shadow meet.
A Mirror returns light. A Shadow is light that did not arrive. They are not opposites so much as two accounts of the same lamp: what bounced, and what was blocked. Without a surface there is no image. Without obstruction there is no shade.
Reflection is the relationship between return and refusal. Light and Memory take the card’s share. The pairing is perception that needs both a face and a withholding — seeing as something a world does to itself, not a gift the eye invented.
The meeting
Seeing that requires both a surface and what it refuses.
The Work is a way to sit with a relationship once it has become readable.
