Vedic tradition

  • Agnihotra appears in Vedic tradition.

Vedic fire-oblation speech in the Ṛgveda seats the twice-daily Agni offering at the day’s hinges — the named agnihotra rite continuous with that hymn fire. A named Vedic ritual in that corpus, not puja as general worship and not homa as a later domestic label alone.
