Places

A Greek civic market and gathering open. Not forum as the Roman twin alone, and not plaza as a later open square dump.

Hellenic religion

  • Agora appears in Hellenic religion.

Herodotus seats Greek cities’ agoras among assembly, market, and public-speech places in the Histories. A named agora in that traveler’s speech, not forum as a Roman flatten and not a modern plaza dump.
