Fuxi

Beings

The culture-bringer of trigrams and nets in Chinese tradition. Not Nüwa as the companion mender alone, and not a deity-pantheon dump.

Also known as Fu Xi

Chinese tradition

  • Fuxi is historically related to Yijing.

Wilhelm’s Yijing materials transmit Fuxi as the culture-hero traditionally linked to the trigrams’ first drawing. A historical-traditional link in that reception, not identity of Fuxi with the book and not King Wen as an unpublished id.
