Yajna

Vedic tradition

• Yajna appears in Vedic tradition.

The Ṛgveda is sacrificial poetry — yajña as the fire-rite into which hymn, food, and soma are offered. A named Vedic ritual in that corpus, not later domestic homa alone and not bare offerings as a shelf-word.
