plant
Yarrow
Yarrow as a plant people have named and used. Wound herb, field star, soldier care — one living kind, not a single symbol.
Yarrow is used in Medicine.
Dioscorides’ De Materia Medica lists achilleios/sideritis-kind yarrow speech among wound-herb drugs. A named yarrow in that handbook, not an Achilles-hero dump alone and not chamomile as the neighboring flower pharmacy.

Yarrow is historically related to Wine.
In Culpeper’s English Physician, a plaister of betony bruises yarrow among the herbs and boils them in white wine before straining and adding wax and gums — yarrow is boiled in that wine.

Chinese tradition
Yarrow is used in Yijing.
Wilhelm’s Yijing yarrow method uses milfoil / yarrow as the plant material of the stalk cast. Named plant material used in that consultation, not yarrow-stalks as the counted apparatus alone and not a herbal-pharmacy dump.
