A Leaf is a season’s work, already falling. Rot is the chemistry that unmakes it without drama. A Mushroom is a fruiting body; the work is the network. A Spore is the traveling generation of that work. Compost is heat and breakdown tended into a store. Soil is what the store becomes when it is no longer a pile.

Humus is not Forest and not Tree. It is the floor: fungus, decay, and growth occupying the same dark. The card keeps Fungus and Decay as the split, Growth as the return, Tree as the stand above. The map keeps the six that make dirt a living argument.
