Lichen

A lichen is not a plant. It is a fungus keeping algae or cyanobacteria, a dual body that can sit on rock where soil has not yet been made. After disturbance it is often first: on a Ruin, on ash, before a Forest can stand. Succession names it and then moves on.

Lichen is not a card type. It feeds Fungus first, then Stone and Growth. Mold is a stain on food; this page is the pioneer that treats stone as a habitat.
