Mask
Mask is an emergent relationship within SHOE.BLUE: what becomes readable when Eclipse and Moon meet.
An Eclipse is a syzygy: one body covering another’s light, a place that is usually lit falling into shadow. The Moon is the nearer mass that can do that work — sliding across the sun’s face, or sliding into Earth’s own shade. The covering is geometry. The dark is temporary.
Mask is that covering recognized as a relationship. Threshold and Light take the card; Cycle is why the line-up returns. The pairing is not an omen. It is a satellite and a withheld lamp agreeing, briefly, that seeing depends on a line remaining empty, and that a line can be occupied without either body being destroyed.
The meeting
A line-up in which a nearer body withholds a farther light.
The Work is a way to sit with a relationship once it has become readable.
