Erosion + Mountain

Weathering

Weathering is an emergent relationship within SHOE.BLUE: what becomes readable when Erosion and Mountain meet.

A Mountain is mass that won, for a while, against gravity. Erosion is the long argument that it has not won forever. Ice, water, wind, and salt take the height apart in pieces too small to look like defeat until the pieces are a plain.

Weathering is the relationship between the stand and the taking-down. Stone and Decay take the card; Friction and Age are the method and the clock. The pairing is not disaster. It is weather as a sculptor that only works by returning, and height as a temporary fact.

The meeting

Mass taught downward until it becomes weather’s work.
