Forest + Succession

Relay is an emergent relationship within SHOE.BLUE: what becomes readable when Forest and Succession meet.

A Forest is a climate made of many trunks, not a tree multiplied. Succession is what happens after the stand is broken: lichen, then herb, then tree, each set changing the place so a different set can follow. It is not a march toward a perfect woods. It is replacement as a living clock.

Relay is that replacement recognized as a relationship. Tree and Growth take the split; Decay is the opening; Evolution is the longer file. The pairing is not recovery as moral. It is a community that can be a door for the next community, and a sequence that needs a stand in order to have something to hand on.

The Work is a way to sit with a relationship once it has become readable.
