Fossil + Lineage

Ancestry

Ancestry is an emergent relationship within SHOE.BLUE: what becomes readable when Fossil and Lineage meet.

A Fossil is a body that learned to be stone. A Lineage is descent still walking. One is a closed record. The other is an open one. Read together they are the same claim in two tenses: this came from that, and the coming-from can be held in the hand or named in a family.

Ancestry is the relationship between remainder and continuation. Evolution and Memory take the card. Age is the depth of the file. The pairing is not genealogy as ornament. It is the fact that living lines leave matter, and matter can still point.
