Healing + Scar

Mend is an emergent relationship within SHOE.BLUE: what becomes readable when Healing and Scar meet.

Healing is growth after a wound: cells filling a gap, work that is not the original work. A Scar is what that work leaves: tissue that remembers a cut without remaining the cut. One is the adding back. The other is the proof the adding happened, and that it was not a return to before.

Mend is those two facts as one problem. Growth and Memory take the split; Human is why the mark is read as a story. The pairing is not consolation. It is repair that cannot unwrite, and a leftover that is not only damage — the body closing, and the close remaining visible.

The Work is a way to sit with a relationship once it has become readable.
