A fused copper-silicate blue of ancient Egyptian faience and wall. Not faience the ware alone, and not ultramarine.

  • Egyptian blue is used in Medicine.

    Pliny’s Natural History treats Egyptian blue frit among artificial blues of painting and related arts. A Roman-era material use of Egyptian blue, not azurite as the copper mineral already filed and not ultramarine as later lapis paint.
