Fólkvangr

Places

Freyja’s field that receives half the slain in Norse speech. Not Valhalla as Odin’s hall, and not a generic meadow dump.

Also known as Folkvangr

Norse tradition

  • Fólkvangr appears in Norse tradition.

Gylfaginning names Folkvangr as Freyja’s field where half the slain are seated. A named folk-field in that prose cosmology, not Valhalla as Odin’s hall alone and not a generic battlefield dump.
