Cloth from flax fiber — mummy wrap, sail, and canvas. Not wool, and not cotton as a later global fiber.

    Pliny’s Natural History treats linen among plant-fiber cloths prepared and colored in Mediterranean craft. A Roman-era textile use of flax cloth, not wool alone and not later muslin.
