Sigurd

Beings

The Norse dragon-slayer of the Völsung cycle. Not Siegfried as the German Nibelung twin alone, and not a bare dragon-slayer dump.

Also known as Sigurðr

Norse tradition

  • Sigurd appears in Norse tradition.

Reginsmál and Fáfnismál in the Poetic Edda name Sigurðr in the dragon-slaying and counsel speech of the Völsung cycle. A named Norse hero in that verse corpus, not Siegfried as the German Nibelung twin alone and not a bare dragon-slayer dump.
