Ash + Lichen

Scrub is an emergent relationship within SHOE.BLUE: what becomes readable when Ash and Lichen meet.

Ash is what combustion refuses to burn: carbon and mineral left on the ground. Lichen can take a mineral surface, a dual body that does not wait for soil. Renewal is seed × ruin: a beginning in abandoned architecture. This pair is after-fire occupation of a leftover, without claiming that every seed opens for heat.

Scrub is that occupation. Fungus and Carbon take the split; Decay is the sense of after. The pairing is not Renewal. It is a crust on what fire would not finish.

The Work is a way to sit with a relationship once it has become readable.
